For the readers of AskMen.com, the guy who made the biggest impact this year and most shaped "what it means to be a man of influence in 2012" isn't a real man at all. He's fictional. (And he's not alone: Christian Grey from "Fifty Shades of Grey" was named the 13th most influential man of the year.)
After a month-long public voting process on the website, AskMen.com's users voted James Bond into the No. 1 spot. Bond's having a great year already, what with the 50th anniversary of his first film, and the new Bond movie, "Skyfall," arriving in November.
Trailing 007 in second place - a position he's surely not used to - is Olympic champ Usain Bolt. Bill Clinton, Seth MacFarlane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt fill out the rest of the top five.
President Obama just barely misses the top 10, coming in at No. 11 on AskMen's ranking of influence, while Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was at No. 24.
And while Kanye West was closer to the middle of the pack in terms of influence - he arrived at No. 31 - he does have the distinction of being the only man to land on the Top 49 Most Influential Men list for all seven years of its existence.
The rest of the top 10 include Jimmy Kimmel at No. 6; Elon Musk at No. 7; Frank Ocean at No. 8; Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger tied for No. 9; and Ryan Gosling at No. 10.
